| Well, I did it! I'm officially an IWU grad and it feels WONDERFUL! What now? Well, I'm traveling again this summer with His Instrument. I'll do that for 9 weeks. The week I get back, my friend, Bethany, is getting married and I'm a bridesmaid so I'll have that the following Saturday. Sunday morning, after that wedding, I'll head to Roanoke, Virginia for 3 weeks and then head back to Michigan 2 days short of a week before my own wedding which is on September 15th. Whew! I have too much to do but I'm really anxious about getting married! I'm looking forward to that more than anything! So, if you're wondering how you can pray for me those are all areas that need major prayer. Traveling is going to be so hard for me this year. My 'to do list' is in sane and hardly achievable, but I know I can do it! More than anything, though, pray for Matt and I as we continue to prepare for our lives together. We are so excited and desire God to be the center of our marriage! Thanks! Love to you all! ~Steph | | |
| Well, I am 3 days out from graduating from college. The relief of knowing I never have to go back to school is unbelievable and I am thankful to be done. Today is the last day of finals and then it's fun, fun, fun...at least until I have to find a real job! Some may wonder if I'm sad about being done but I can boldy and without hesitation respond with a big, 'No!'. I'm in no way sad to see college come to a close and I'm so ready to leave! However, I must say that IWU has provided me with a lot of opportunities I wouldn't have had if I didn't come here so I am thankful for those times. And the best part about IWU is that it brought my husband to me! No, he's not from IWU. I'm not sure we would've ever dated if he was, but I met him traveling for the school. So, that is what I'm most thankful for in regards to my IWU time. Take care and happy graduation!!! ~Steph | | |
| Well, as you could clearly see from the title of this entry, I'M ENGAGED!! I'll be marrying Matt Landis on September 15th. We are currently planning to live in South Carolina for a little while and then eventually move to Roanoke, Virginia, my favorite place in the world. A Little About My Love, Matt: We met while I was traveling with His Instrument this past summer. We met at Fairmount Camp in Fairmount, IN which is where is parents met. Matt and I knew pretty quickly that we wanted this to last forever so we started making plans for a wedding. We like to say that we mastered the unofficial engagement seeming that we were pretty much unofficially engaged for like 3 or 4 months. Ridiculous, really! He officially asked me to marry him on December 15th. He bought me recording time at Gaither Studios in Alexandria and my parents come from Michigan and his mom and sister were there too. At the end of my session he came in and asked me to marry him. The engineer recorded it so we captured my sobbing cries. But it was really special and I am more than anxious to marry Matt and become Stephanie Landis! Love you to all! I hope your Christmas season was as wonderful as mine! | | |
| I PROMISE that a new entry is coming soon. I just have to take the time. In the next week or two I will be posting what's new in my life...and it's good stuff! Believe me! Happy New Year to you all! | | |
| Well, Matt got here last Wednesday, the 9th, and left this past Tuesday afternoon. We had a great week of pretty much doing nothing, which we both needed since we had spent the past 9 weeks going from camp to camp. Our week consisted of laying on the couch and watching movies. Every now and then, amidst our lounging, we'd go do something but that was rare. I think he would have liked to go do more but let's face it, I live in Michigan and there's not a lot to do and I'm sure my laziness also played a part in not wanting to do anything else but...nothing!
Anyway, things are going GREAT with us and we are missing each other terribly! I'm so glad that his mom lives in Marion so that when he's visiting me ALL THE TIME we'll have some place to go besides IWU! Ugh! I venture to say that we'll spend little to no time on-campus which is more than fine with me.
Besides me having a boyfriend, the only other new thing is that I'm getting ready to start my senior year of college. WooHoo! I graduate in April and then will be coming home through May to pack all of my stuff to move to b-e-a-utiful Roanoke, VA! Ultimately, I won't officially move until August, but my stuff will be making its journey sometime between the months of May and July. But we'll just have to wait and see what the times bring us through the next few months. It makes me sad to think that I'll possibly be moving so far from my parents, but there is nothing holding me in Michigan. It excites me just thinking that I'm only going to be living in the north for a matter of months now! Next fall can't come quickly enough!
I think that's it! I will eventually do an entry about my summer of traveling. It was great!
